The project named We'll Get Better With Sport, planned for 24 months, includes the partnership of two sports clubs, an NGO and an official educational institution from Greece and Turkey. The targets of the project;
1. To develop the skills of coaches and sports trainers to work and communicate with children and youth in trauma and traumatized children and youth, and to ensure that they get better quality results,
2. To increase the socio-cultural and democratic participation of traumatized children and youth through exercise and sports, to enable them to engage in conscious physical activity in order to increase their physical-mental health and support their rehabilitation processes, to create sustainable mechanisms for their individual development,
3. To create an environment of local, national and international dialogue and cooperation between youth and sports organizations through exercise and sports,
4. To increase awareness and advocacy of European values against xenophobia, discrimination, exclusion and racism in local communities and European society.
The main target groups of the project are sports clubs and youth organizations working with disadvantaged groups. The final target groups are children and youth who migrated to Europe due to the occupation and war, and children and youth who migrated to the western cities of the country as a result of the severe earthquakes that took place in eastern Turkey on February 6, 2023. In other words, the project focuses on children and youth who have experienced trauma during and after war, earthquakes and forced migration in two countries. The project will develop the skills and capacity of individuals and organizations working with the final target groups, through complementary activities and a holistic approach. The project includes sustainable results through unique activities and measures at the local and international level with networking, synergy, training, practical physical activities.
